WHEN WILL A PROGRAMME BE ON TV?
TV schedules are finalised two weeks before transmission. For the latest information please visit the TV Guide. You should also follow our social media accounts as we post programme news and scheduling information here as well.
I’VE MISSED AN EPISODE. HOW CAN I CATCH UP?
You can go to the TV Guide page and search for the programme repeats there or you can use dplay. dplay is a free streaming service which gives you access to live TV, as well as offering hours of catch up and box sets for your viewing pleasure. You can access dplay via the mobile and tablet app, as well as here via your computer’s browser.
HOW DO I GET YOUR CHANNELS?
HGTV is available on BT TV 42, Freeview 42, Sky 158, Virgin 286 and Youview 42 and can also be streamed on dplay. dplay is a free streaming service which gives you access to live TV, as well as offering hours of catch up and box sets for your viewing pleasure. WHERE DID THE HOME CHANNEL GO?
Home has now rebranded to HGTV, but don’t worry you can still watch all your favourite Home shows, just now on HGTV. We will be adding some new shows to the channel, so do visit our social channels and let us know what you think.

Due to copyright reasons we are unable to supply clips and images for all programmes but Discovery Access has clips that can be licensed for a fee.

I'VE GOT AN IDEA FOR A PROGRAMME, WHO DO I CONTACT?
We only accept proposals from TV production companies. If you have an idea for a programme you should research which production companies have worked on similar projects and submit a proposal to them directly. PACT (Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television) has a directory of production companies. If you are from a production company please login via the Producers Portal here (registration needed).
HOW DO I BECOME A PRESENTER?
Discovery Networks does not accept unsolicited show reels. If you want to become a presenter you need to contact a production company or casting agent directly. A show reel should be interesting, fun, no longer than 5 minutes in length and include several scenes that show variety. Do not go to great expense and get family or friends to help. When you send it to a production company enclose a covering letter and ensure your details are clearly marked. Never send the master copy. PACT (Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television) has a directory that lists contact details for production companies.

HOW DO I MAKE A COMPLAINT ABOUT AN ADVERT ON YOUR CHANNEL?
Adverts broadcast have been cleared for transmission by Clearcast. If you have a complaint about an advertisement this should be directed to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) who will investigate. If your complaint is about a programme trailer please use the contact us link and we will ensure it is passed on to the department responsible for investigation.

WHAT IS PRODUCT PLACEMENT?
Product placement is where a company pays a TV channel or a programme-maker to include its products in a programme. Ofcom has approved product placement in TV programmes specifically made for UK audiences as long as this placement complies with Ofcom rules. WHY DO ADVERTS SOUND LOUDER THAN PROGRAMMES?
Advertisers compress sound levels that when compared against programmes – which have a wider variation in levels – can appear louder. We have recognised this and use perceived loudness meters to measure the actual loudness of the sound. This means we can adjust the levels of commercials and interstitial materials in accordance with Ofcom guidelines.
