We want to know what really went into creating HGTV’s Barbie Dreamhouse — the life-sized home in Los Angeles that was recently Barbie-fied by 15 HGTV hosts and one Food Network star split into teams of two. We’ve been watching the entire renovation (and competition) unfold, but, of course, what we see is just a fraction of what it actually took to make the dreamy, decade-spanning oasis. Luckily, our behind-the-scenes YouTube series captured everything.
The four-episode series features on-set fun and interviews with producers. It also spotlights the competing designers as well as the hundreds of other people who made the house come to life.
“We have this big whirlwind staircase here. Everything is really exciting and very whimsical,” says Co-Executive Producer Blake Mullins. “We feel like it’s the perfect blank canvas for Barbie’s dreamhouse so obviously a lot of color, a lot of wallpaper. It’s going to be pretty incredible to see how it turns out.”
