Making a ‘boo-tiful’ bouquet that will last for years is easy, you’ll just need craft felt, scissors, glue and sticks from the backyard — oh, and, of course, big scary eyeballs! Get creative cutting the felt to make a variety of flowers. Experiment with different petal shapes, stiffened felts and types of decorative edge scissors.

Tools and Materials

  • black, green, magenta and orange felt
  • scissors
  • pinking shears
  • hot glue gun + glue sticks
  • eyeball ornaments
  • sticks for the flower stems
  • pipe cleaners

1. Cut First Strip

Cut a 2-inch wide strip of felt the circumference of the eyeball ornament. Use scissors to cut notches in the entire length of the felt strip.

2. Attach First Strap to Eyeball

Using hot glue, attach this strip to the perimeter of the ornament.

3. Cut Second Strip + Glue to Eyeball

Cut a 4-inch wide strip of felt the circumference of the eyeball ornament. Fold the strip in half lengthwise and glue the open end shut. Using scissors cut notches in the entire length of the felt strip on the non-glued side. Using hot glue attach this strip to the perimeter of the ornament slightly below the first piece of felt.

4. Make Petals

Cut out five petal shapes from two different colors of felt. Use pinking shears to give the petals a jagged edge.

5. Attach Petals

Using hot glue, attach the petals to the underside of the eyeball ornament. First glue on all of one color evenly spaced and then add the second color of felt petals between those.

6. Attach the Stems

Using scissors, poke a hole in the back of the ornament. Insert a stick and glue it into place. Cut a small, round piece of felt. Make a straight cut halfway through the perimeter of the circle so you can slip it around the spot where the stick meets the eyeball ornament. Glue the felt into place. You can leave the sticks plain or wrap them with a pipe cleaner to make them black and fuzzy.

7. Arrange Flowers

Arrange your flowers in a vase with black faux foliage to complete your Halloween centrepiece. You can also use fun items like small pumpkins, vampire teeth and various other Halloween toys as the centre of your flower.
